This ware was excavated as a cremation urn during the construction of the NHK Broadcasting Tower on a hill in the northeastern part of downtown Takayama. It is wheel-thrown with a white high-quality base, and the lower half of the body has been shaved to adjust the surface. The white hard clay body was glazed with a brilliant green ash glaze that flowed down from the neck to the shoulder. It is probably produced at the Sanage kiln.
