This is a stocky, bulbous tokkuri with a slightly wide mouth; it imitates the Shōzui twisted pattern, featuring six twisted raised lines on the body. Three sides are decorated with circular patterns, while the other three feature motifs such as pine, bamboo, and plum; landscapes with pavilions and figures; and boats navigating mountain scenery. The base bears a two-line inscription within a single circle reading “Made by Hozen in Hunan during the Yongle era.” The lid of the accompanying box is inscribed with “Shōzui Sake” on the front and “Made by Hozen in Hunan” on the back.
