A brownish or reddish-purple color with iron coloring added to the rim of a vessel. It may also be derived from the purple lip of celadon porcelain, or from a rim of tenmoku (a type of porcelain). Generally, porcelain lipstick has a hardened and tightened appearance in these areas.
