In terms of its shape, this vessel may belong to the jar family. The mouth rim is shallow and N-shaped, with a wide rim band formed by a rise. It is made of dense clay containing many fine feldspar particles, a characteristic of the Shigaraki and Iga regions, and is molded by rolling up clay strings. It is well fired to a brownish-brown color, with dark green natural glaze on the shoulder and half of the body, which fuses with the feldspar to form a cloudy white glaze.
