　Many old Nabeshima boar-shaped vessels have a variety of shapes, and it is interesting to see how they were conceived. The body is decorated with morning glories, and the inner rim and outer chamber are painted in light lapis lazuli. The leaves of the morning glories are painted in green, and yellow overglaze enameling is applied to the hearth, but the green runs down and blends with the yellow, resulting in an unrefined overglaze painting not seen on Okawachi wares. The darker tones of both colors are characteristic of old Nabeshima, and both of these types of boar cups are rather thick and molded by die cutting.
