　The short, outer neck is thickened at the edge and bent outward one step, which is probably a prelude to the late Muromachi period (1336-1573) Tameno-style. The bottom diameter is already larger than the bore, giving it a sense of stability. It is made of Shigaraki’s unique silica-rich clay and has a four-stage hagi-zukuri (hagi-zukuri) body, so the firing temperature is not very high. The surface of the vessel has fine cracks where the silica stone has been brushed. Among the many Shigaraki large vases, this jar is particularly elegant, perhaps because of the combination of the light fire color on the surface and the shallow green color of the natural glaze. The green glaze running from the mouth rim to the lower half of the body adds a scenic touch. This is one of the most elegant Shigaraki vases.
