This is a large pot with a deep rise. The rim is twisted back to form a ball rim, one side is pressed down to distort it into an oval shape, and the base is slightly high, with two incisions to form a split base. The entire surface, except for the base, is covered with a thick feldspar glaze with a mixture of clay and ash. The glazed surface has a bluish gray color with a faint reddish tint at the base. Large deep bowls of this type are rarely seen. It may have been made by the Tani Kiln of the jar shop.
