It is not clear whether this bowl was made as a large horse-shaped sake cup or a tea bowl, but it is an elegant tea bowl with the simplicity of the Karatsu style. The mouth is open easily, but some of the clay has been cut off, and the tatami mat of the high stand is flat with a thread bottom, showing the red clay skin. The glaze is soft and beautiful loquat color.
