This piece shares the common style of Irabō Katamigake, but its distinctive feature is the pinched rim. The overlapping glaze layers extend both inward and outward, creating a beautiful blue hue. The sharp cut of the rim and the characteristic Irabō “bebra” pattern add to its appeal. The single brushstroke on the interior is crisp and clean, with a brilliant white color. The bamboo-jointed high foot is particularly majestic, the helmet-shaped rim is robust, and the glaze overlaps the foot, creating a scenic effect. The glaze shrinks at the sides of the foot, adding a rustic charm. Despite its austere appearance, this is a renowned bowl with an elegant feel.
