The horizontal cloud is said to be the mark of Sōtan, and it probably originated from the glaze texture. It is one of the seven outer types.Thickly made with a rounded rim, slightly tapered body, flared base, and large foot, this piece is recognized as one of the types of Nagajiro tea bowls.
The red clay has a translucent glaze with uneven texture, and white deposits are prominent on the rim and body, creating a quiet yet striking appearance. The single hole on one side adds to the tea bowl’s charm.
