Height: 7.5 cm, Mouth Diameter: 10.0 cm, Foot Diameter: 4.7 cm
Since this tea bowl bears the carved inscription “Sōshitsu (seal)” near the foot, it is thought that it may be a piece hand-shaped by Sensō and fired by the First-Generation Ōhi. Consequently, the style seems somewhat different from that of the First-Generation Ōhi, and the form clearly appears to be based on the Rikyu style. The bowl is small overall, with a slightly flared rim; the foot is round, and a tomoe-patterned headband is raised within the foot ring. It is covered entirely in amber glaze; the interior is thick, while the exterior is quite thin, to the point where traces of the clay’s surface are visible. There are four indentations on the footring. On the underside of the inner box lid, Gen’gensai has inscribed: “Senname-han-zai Ōhi-yaki Chawan Seichū (seal).”
