This Zhuangzi incense container is an ancient work, as is the Hafadori incense container.
As in the case of the “Zhuangzi,” a butterfly is depicted on the front of the lid.
In China, the theme of this piece is a story of a nobleman in the traditional design of underglaze blue slip ware. The butterfly design on this piece is based on the legend of Zhuangzi becoming a butterfly in a dream.
It is thought to have once been a piece of stationery.
This elegant and neat incense container must have been a favorite of the Chinese literati.
This is the reason why tea masters would be most pleased with this type of incense container.
A flawless, flawless incense container of this kind is rare, and I have seen no more than four with flaws.
The body is decorated with a small sheep’s flower design.

Brushed brass with design of cranes and butterflies
The same brass with cranes, the same brass with butterflies, and the underglaze blue and white Shoji incense container with butterfly design. The name is derived from the fact that the butterfly is painted in place of the weight.

Underglaze blue and white dog-shaped Shoko
This underglaze blue and white Shoko incense container has a picture of a butterfly. A dog was added in place of the butterfly, hence the name. Reference
