A group of Shigaraki pots made in the ball-rim style can be seen from the 15th to the 16th century as a type of Shigaraki pot mouth decoration. The well-fired blackish-brown surface is covered with a yellowish-green natural glaze, and the mixture of red, black, and yellowish-green tones shows the natural interest created by the flame without regret.
