This incense container is called a mokuri. This name is derived from its shape.
Like the pine bark lozenge mentioned above, it was ordered from China and imported, taking its shape from a Japanese coat of arms.
Many of the designs on the covers depict Chinese figures, but this incense container is considered a rare item because it features a rare depiction of Juro Beard, a man with a beard. It is considered to be a rare item because it depicts a rare Chinese figure. The side of this piece also depicts a fisherman and a lumberjack.
This piece is ranked high in the front rank in the ranking list, but it was considered to be an old work and highly valued at the time of its importation because of the elegant nature of its fabrics and glazes. The market value of this piece was also unimaginable today, as can be seen from the numbering system.
The author often had the opportunity to see these pieces in Osaka, when the rarity of the design was often mentioned.
