The author saw this item when it was sold by the Sakai family. It is named after Rikyu, who owned it. As the name suggests, the elongated neck resembles that of a crane.
The form features a slender, elongated neck with a single groove in the middle, a well-proportioned bulbous body, and a circular base.
A rich brown glaze is applied evenly, with two gentle glaze flows starting from the middle of the body. One flow extends to the edge of the base, while the other remains exposed in the middle, creating a pleasing composition.
The clay is reddish, revealing the lower part of the body, and the threads are neatly cut.
There are three covers: white with old Kinran, Donshu with a swastika pattern, and Kandou.
